Hi there.

I found this Recipe on line and made it mine. Changing things as people do.
When I started making my soap, I did it because my hubby has rashes due to allergies from Celiac. It has helped him so much. Me... not so much. I believe I am allergic to the Coconut oils, by process of elimination.

So last night, made this. And so far, am loving it. Yes! Have used it only once. I have been fighting a rash under my bra bands every since I used his soaps. Did not realize why. So when I tried The 100% Coconut soap. Oh Boy!

Any way... This Morning. As I put my soap/shampoo on. I could SEE the rash almost go away! As I speak...It is slowly disappearing :D .

The recipe

3 C. Boiling water. Steeped with herbs. I used 4 tea bags.
2 peppermint and 2 chamomile.
1 Bar of Castille soap- grated.
1/4 C Baking soda
1 Tbs Castor oil
EO to taste

While this was steeping, I took a bar of my own Castille soap and shaved it into a large bowl. I added 1/4 Baking Soda. I am not sure on the Amount of Baking Soda for every one. The recipe just call for A NICE DUMP of it :?

And you can add EO of choice. If you desire. I use Peppermint EO. Till It smelled good. I did not measure. :!:
I did add 1 Tbs. of Castor oil. ( will add 1 more before bottling. )

Took the tea bags out of water and put water on soap mixture. Mixed with a spoon. Put in the microwave for 5 min. The used the immersion blender. It makes thick liquid soap. You Might need to mix more than once.
Let cool over night

As I finish typing this...My rash is almost gone :D

Thanks for sharing.
I'm trying to think of a good preservative for something like this with baking soda in it. Off to look through my notes.

Vit E ??

Put it in a Tall 16 oz Water bottle That you can see into. It seems to separate. So one would have to shake it before using.

But well worth the shake every day. The rash is Gone now :D

You need a preservative with that much water content and the herbs.

Thanks Irena.

I saved the info for later as I have none of the preservatives shown. Would keeping the shampoo in the fridge help?

It will last up to two weeks MAX in the fridge. Personally I would chuck it after a week with no preservative.

Also - you need to convert all measurements into grams and keep a record of how much you have used. Especially when it comes to using EO as you should never just guess with those.

thanks everyone for you help.
I won't try making this again. As I did not have a clue what I was doing.

It was just blind luck, that I did get rid of my rash. So I am happy about that. No more liquid soaps for me. Until I learn about it at least.
