Hi - What is scale paper?

I completed my first batch of soap not bad, i used the same technique that Soap queen does with saran wrap and then using a heat gun. So far they look ok. Any other possibilities? Is there any other nicer wrapping then this? Thank you.

The only things I've ever heard of as being referred to as scale paper is graph paper and ph scale litmus strips. But since you're talking about wrapping soaps, I'm going to assume scale paper is butcher paper, like the butchers put on the scale and then wrap meat in.

For MP you can use shrink wrap, which is not the same as saran wrap. You can check out Uline.com on shrink wrap.
I don't know what your soaps look like, but there are also plastic clamshells:
http://www.candlemaking.com/store/Clam- ... 76C27.aspx (if you do a search on google, I'm sure you can find someplace that has them cheaper)

Here's some ideas for soap packaging:
http://www.soap-making-essentials.com/s ... ideas.html

http://www.google.com/search?q=soap+pac ... d=0CB4QsAQ

But with mp, which attracts moisture and sweats easily, it's best to stick with some type of plastic wrap right over the soap.

Yes. But they always have to be shrink wrapped first if it's M&P. Unless it's CP you can just take whatever wrapping and wrap them as they are. There's tons of different paper wrap you can use. One for example is gift wrapping paper. Those come in all patterns and colors.

Was using saran wrong? I got it from the BB teach soap videos. I looked on U-line is there anything you recommend for shrink wrap? Thank you.

I've been using Saran for my MP and so far no problems... I just can't get the Saran to shrink tight enough to not be wrinkly without it ripping on me...

I prefer shrink wrap. I live in the desert where it's dry, but my MP soaps get shipped all over; including places where it's humid.

I use saran wrap and labels. nice, clean and simple. If its a gift set I pop them in a cello bag (after there wrapped in saran) and tie a ribbon bow with a kraft paper label. Nothing too fancy. I've never had any problems with saran wrap or it sticking or not being able to get it off or any of those things. I've had soaps wrapped in it for months and months and the soap is still perfect.

I use saran wrap too, l cut my saran ,put the soap in the middle fold it over to meet the other side then twist the side piece until the saran is tight and secure with tape ,l then do the same with the other side just like lollies which in the States l think you call candy. The twists are hidden by the paper strip l put round my soap.It keeps the Saran nice and tight and doesn't take some much effort to get the soap out of as shrinkwrap which if you have elderly buyers is really good .Shrinkwrap can be a devil to take off if you arthritis in your hands like l have. :)
