Hi, everybody! I've been doing M&P soap for about two years now, and I made my first batch of CP soap two days ago. The bars are cut and curing now, and as far as I can tell, they turned out well!

Nothing fancy, but I wanted to start simply to increase my chances of success. The soap is a simple three-oil recipe (olive, coconut, and palm). I used the gram measurements and superfatted at 7%. No colorant, but I did use a fragrance oil that was reported to behave well in CP. The scent is Rosemary Mint.

Here's the soap in the mold, gelling on the left and completed 24 hours later:

Here are the cut bars and the bars on the curing rack:

I was nervous before I started, but it seems everything went well. After cutting, I wet my finger with some distilled water, rubbed it on the top of the soap and a couple of the cut surfaces, and put my finger to my tongue and I didn't detect any zap (although the FO was a bit minty and tingly  )

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone here at the forum for all of your help. Before I started, I searched past forum topics and posted some questions of my own, and gleaned a great deal of knowledge from all of you. I also got a lot of help from Anne-Marie's videos and the many books I read by some wonderful authors. Thank you to everyone for helping feel more prepared and confident!

And now the waiting ...

Great Job, congratulations! So what's the next batch going to be? You have to have lots to do while you wait for this batch to cure!

What a pretty soap. And now the fun begins. I think that you will like the Rosemary Mint scent for your early morning showers. I do. And yes, you have to have a scent for early morning, one for late morning showers, night showers, one for washing your hands, one that's just for face washing, a special guest scent . . . I think you can see where this is going. And this is just the scent part of the addiction! Anybody like to fill her in on the other parts?

Have fun! You are in for a wonderful ride.

They turned out nice! Now you need to start making a list with all the ideas you pick up from here and you'll be busy soaping for at least the next 5 years! LOL

Thanks, everybody!

Onmysoapbox, I know what you mean! I've been doing M&P soaps for the past two years and I have so many fragrance oils, essential oils, molds, colorants, gadgets, etc. The good thing about that is that when it came time to try CP soap, I already had some of the supplies that I needed.

LavenderLady, I have found myself thinking about my next batch even though I have more soap over here than I know what to do with! The addiction does take over rather quickly!

Thanks again, everyone! :)
