Thanks. I wrap mine now, but will switch to boxes when my wrapping supplies run out.

Just a note about those of us with sensitive sniffers. I for one can SMELL the PVC shrink wrap and it is not pleasant. I ordered some soap on line 6 bars and everyone smelt so foul. I re wrapped the soaps in food wrap and gave them away. Had I seen these soaps at a store or market I wouldn't have bought them.

I mentioned this to the buyer on etsy and they weren't' worried in the least and blamed it on fumes from fed ex truck! Wow.

Now whether whom ever did the shrink wrap over heated it or did it wrong or it was just smelly PVC I haven't a clue, but I do know I wouldn't ever use it.

My shrink wrap really doesn't have an odor to it. Honest. My step Mom is ultra fragrance sensitive and she doesn't think it does either. If it passes her sniff test, it's good to go.

Here's another source of Kraft soap boxes with many @ 14 cents a piece. They have a great variety of styles.

http://www.tealightboxes.com/category_s/5.htm

The 14 cents doesn't include shipping. I keep some of these on hand for birthdays, holidays, special occasions, but even 30 cents (which IIRC is about what it worked out to with shipping added) to the cost of a bar of soap is a big consideration. For me anyway.

That's got to come from somewhere. Right now it's out of my pocket. When selling, it's a cost that would be passed on to the buyer.
I don't want to tack another 30 cents onto the cost of a bar of soap nor do I want to eat the cost.

Since I live in a humid climate, not a dry one like Soapbuddy, I still have to shrink wrap to keep moisture and humidity out, fragrances in, whether I use the boxes or not. Works for me so far.

I go back and forth on different packaging options, recently considered waxed tissue paper, but didn't find patterns that I liked.
So I'm still shrink wrapping. :D

I too recommend National Shrinkwrap (http://www.nationalshrinkwrap.com). That site also has a wonderful "how to video" that explains, and shows you, how to shrink wrap CP soap. They had several shrink wraps to choose from. I use the "Smell Through Shrink Wrap" and my customers love it. It keeps the soap clean, but you can still smell the scent through the shrink wrap. They also have a "perforated shrink wrap" that lets the air in. It's still a good idea to let your soap fully dry out before shrink wrapping. When I hit the jackpot, I'm going to get their item # PMS-20 for $349.95. It is a Complete 18" shrink wrap system and includes a 21" sealing Wand, film carrier, teflon pad, cushioning pad, deluxe sual-temp hear gun and your choice of film. You can shrink wrap 16-25 bars of soap at one time!! If you already have a heat gun, you can order this system without it and save $20.00. The man who runs this business, Art, is very helpful and will takes tons of time with you, on the phone, to answer any questions you may have. Good Luck, Joanne

i honestly don't find the wand to be any faster at all than the impulse sealer, and the impulse sealer takes a lot less space to use. granted i've been doing this a long time and i've gotten pretty quick.

You got a wand sealer for 50 bucks??! Or an impulse sealer?

I would love to have one of the wand systems but I too need to win the lottery first.

No, sorry for the misunderstanding. I posted that I got an awesome deal on ebay for a wand system. I meant to say that you should keep an eye on ebay to find a good deal on one like I did. They are rare, but they do get listed.

I actually did look on ebay and found one Wand System that would save me about $45.00, instead of buying a new one. Not such a "great deal", but $45.00, is $45.00. Thanks for your help!! Joanne

I saw that same one and I believe it is Art from National Shrinkwrap selling a demo model.
