Hey there,

I'm looking at a future project using the recipe for the Sea Clay Swirl found on the website. http://teachsoap.com/2015/05/20/sea-cla ... d-process/

I've never adjusted a recipe before. If I wanted to save $8 bucks and skip the Meadowfoam Oil then I'd just have to adjust the recipe in the soap calculator, right? But if I didn't want to mess with any of the numbers on the recipe I could take the 1.75 oz of Meadowfoam and split the amount between the coconut and olive oils. Will that hurt the recipe at all? I read that Meadowfoam helps retain scent and shelf life but skipping it wouldn't be terrible, would it?

I would just add that amount to my olive oil. If it were me, I probably wouldn't use the almond oil either. Just run your recipe through a soap calculator if you make any changes.

You can redistribute the difference any way you like. Olive oil is normally slow tracing, so you could add the difference there. I don't use almond oil at all, due to people's allergies.

Another Sea Clay Swirl question, please.

The recipe contains quite a bit of olive oil, but the swirl in the picture looks like a pretty white. Does the Kaolin clay color the clay white?
