Yes, the thread definitely took a turn - and it took it fast one. Whiplash alert!
And for the record, I love unicorns and definitely hope that if I meet one in the wild that it has flatulence of rainbows *and* sprinkles.
Coolah is right though. I do have an extremely low tolerance for anything but absolute kindness and tend to go overboard in over-explaining and over-niceness. I know how lonely it can be when learning a new craft and having the warm virtual embrace of others to help guide you along makes things easier (and more fun).
There are other forums on the internet that are much more sassy. And, they have more members and more posts. But, I would rather be a more slow forum that was kind (and therefore, a little boring) than the alternative.
When it comes down to it, with anything (be it running Bramble Berry, or being a Mom, or how I act in public), I want to be proud of what I'm helping to put out and support. And, I cannot be proud of making people feel badly for their lack of knowledge or newbie questions.
Coolah is also right when she says that she has done a ton of research. I read her blog and she is frequently experimenting and working to enhance herself and enhance her craft. That is something I admire.
I cannot condone any behavior, however, that makes anyone feel unwelcome or ashamed or chagrined for their questioning or ignorance. The forum will be less knowledgeable not having Coolah in it. However, I trust your judgement Coolah and hope it is for the best and wish you luck in your soaping endeavors. I'll continue to read and be a fan of your blog =) As per your post, we've removed your User ID from the forum.
