Teach Soap

I made sugar scrub cubes once about a month ago - and it was my first time making them, so there's of course always going to be room for improvement.
But I was wondering if anyone has had more experience with them for my question.

Mine seem a bit too hard. They start off okay when you first get them wet, but as time goes on it doesn't seem to lather at all. So it's like i'm using an exfoliant cube that kind of crumbles apart as you use it. it doesn't make me feel like an all-over clean. My husband thought they might work better as a whole bar rather than a cube, for holding purposes/ease of use.

I used the recipe tutorial that was on soapqueen tv. Maybe I should cut down a bit on the sugar and use more base?

In my opinion, sugar scrubs aren't really for cleansing. They're for exfoliating and moisturizing your skin.
They don't lather because of the oil/butter added.

It sounds more like you're looking for an exfoliating soap. Like something with pumice, ground apricot seeds, salt, jojoba beads, etc. in it.
