I've recently decided to stop being friends with a person who i have suspected for a while now has been trying to set me
up to get me into trouble.

I decided it would be best to just block this person and not respond to them at all. All my settings are private so no one can search for me, add me as a friend unless they are a friend of a friend, etc...

It seems facebook has changed their privacy settings and i've noticed that anyone can private message me now and i don't know how to fix this.

Anyone know how to secure this again using the new settings? I've looked all over their help pages but absolutely no help at all. All the advice on their help pages are for if you actually have a facebook 'like page'.

I may be coming across as a bit harsh towards this person, but there have just been so many suspicious incidents i'm going with my gut instinct something is not right. I'd rather just have no contact with this person at all. The person in question is blocked, but they have set up a fake account to send me a message.

Maybe i should just delete facebook all together

Sorry for the long message, this has just been really upsetting me and now that facebook has changed YET AGAIN i don't know what to do

You can block them each time they message you - eventually they will get bored/frustrated having to create new accounts each time.

Or, just ignore the message? PM's from people you don't know go to your 'other' folder, so it will only upset you if you go in there looking to see if they have sent you a message.

Yeh i noticed it was in my 'other inbox' funnily enough the person who set up the fake account to message me has blocked me also lol

Probably just trying to wind me up.

From time to time i like to clean my inbox out, as i do with email as well.

Some people seem to never grow up!!

Can you mark the message as spam?

Already done that, but i just feel unsafe on facebook now knowing anyone who's not on my friends list can message me

I know it all sounds a bit silly but we all have a right to privacy. This person is a trouble maker, the cheek even of them setting up a fake
profile just to msg me and block me really shows how immature they really are

I would report them to FB then. I hate the new settings and no one seems to know how to change them. I hate the fact that anytime I log in (and I do 3-4 times per day) there are at least 20 more invites for their stuuuupid games. I don't play games online. It's not my thing.

I think to report you need to have access to their profile to report them.

For now i have deactivated my account. Anyone who needs me can call or txt me. Just really annoys me the cheek of this person.

They were initially saying things that apparently i had said that could really get me into trouble.
Hey i have enough things to fill my days than be saying silly childish things.

Again i know this sounds all really silly, but what annoys me the most is very serious slanderous allegations being
made by idiots just really gets me fuming with anger. And the cheek of this person setting up a fake account just to msg me and block me (take note the msg wasn't nasty at all just attention seeking and seeking a response) when they know fine well to back off and p**s off.

I'm 27 years old they are 35 years old. Feels like i'm back in the play ground

lol the thing is they have 6 kids 3 of which they don't see.

The person's partner is emotionally abusive and dare i say it an alcoholic the partner is verbally abusive towards the children as well.

When i started the friendship i was warned of this person but that was during a friendship break up by someone else, lol

I'm 27 not 12 years old lol. Usually i would just let them get on with it, but this facebook setting thing is just bugging me.
I know if i don't look i won't see or get angry. But if it was possible to easily change it i wouldn't be so annoyed

i wouldn't get off facebook just for that person. So long as your privacy settings up correct, they can't see anything on your profile. And if they message you, just ignore it.

But yes, I agree that some people never seem to leave the school ground... women in particular.

Funny you should say that as it is a woman who's bugging me lol

At 35 years old with kids you would expect her to be a little bit more mature than stirring trouble.

Oh well!!!

Nah... women are crazy! To be honest, doesn't even surprise me. I've met more than my fair share of crazy women in my life than one should have to face lol.
