What a great haul Hestey :) thats my Huckleberry!! He is so gorgeous, and I am glad you like him. I am gonna try to get him trained to pull that cart then ride him in cart for the parades in town...gonna hang a sign on the back of the cart for my business :D

I also got 7 antique bail jars from my sister, both of my girls got me some decorative glassware, my son and his gf got me a copy of Scientific Soapmaking, BUT best of ALL was having all three of my kids home for Christmas this year.

This was my first Christmas away from my parents and the two siblings who lived close enough to join us. And the very first year I've ever had to cook the traditional British Christmas dinner all by myself!

Here is a picture of my feast! [roast beef (aka the beast), yorkshire pudding, caesar salad (that one is a family addition hehe), braised brussel sprouts, honey carrots, roast potatoes and lots of gravy! And some broccoli for my husband who can't eat carrots (stupid diabetes) and dislikes brussel sprouts!]

That looks delicious!!

We do a brunch meal on Christmas, not sure when it evolved into a family tradition but it is. My Mom got into this habit of making an omlette casserole. She forgot to get one of the main ingredients (hashbrowns)so she punted to me. I grabbed my basket of eggs from the frig and slammed together a pretty decent dish with biscuits lining the bottom a layer of cheese, sausage, more cheese then eggs blended with some milk, topped of course with some cheese. Fresh fruit and hot grits for side dishes (can you tell we are from the south) I do have to admit it was good and the family must have liked it. NO leftovers. LOL

After the head count we had 13 people in Mom's house yesterday, the only ones missing were my brother and his wife. It was really a great Christmas.

Happy Day After Christmas Everyone! My favorite day - as it means we don't have to go anywhere or do anything and the kids have all their new stuff to entertain them. 8)

My parents got us a Zoo membership, which is probably our biggest gift this year. But I also got some books, some sweet treats (including homemade macaroons from my mom, all for myself!), and a wonderful stash of novelty ice cube trays that my mom found at goodwill!

My birthday is just a few days before Christmas, so for that I got a gift certificate to a local salon for pedicure and massage from my folks, and a beautiful bracelet from my sweet hubby along with opera tickets!

I like Steve :D And Hestey, your meal looks so yummy. I LOVE roasted potatoes but I'm a potato junkie and the others in the house, not so much.

I got my usual: gift cards :D MIL gave me $50 card to Amazon, so I now have a new scale (KD8000), infrared thermometer, 2 scrapers and a 50g calibration weight coming. All but the weight should be here Friday. Hubby and I didn't do gifts to each other. My parents paid my car insurance for the next 6 months. And my best friend graced me with her presence from Baltimore :D MIL also gave me $50 to Walmart for my birthday today, so I'm guessing I will be buying 2 more of my Hamilton Beach stick blenders there.

Hestey, STEVE looks spectacular!

Vanessa that is still a great haul ! I was hoping for a new scale, but alas one did not arrive. I will be treating myself to one soon enough ;)

Haven that is so cool! I remember our first white Christmas, my husband made a totally ghetto sled for our son out of cardboard...OH MY they had a blast on that thing.

Congratulations, Hestey. You made a beautiful Christmas meal and got your very own Steve!

Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday! My best present is we are going to see my daughter after New Year's. I miss her so much I can't wait!
