Teach Soap

I am thinking up a new lotion bar and wanted any opinions about it before I give it a try! What do you think of this:
Olive oil infused with Calendula petals. 15%
Sweet Almond oil 15%
Pistachio Butter. 15%
Avocado Butter. 15%
Shea Butter 15%
Candelilla Wax 14%
Vitamin E. 1%

I'm trying to get a good balance between the liquid and hard oils. Does anyone else have experience with lotion bars? I love BB's push tubes and would like to give some as gifts.

A good starting place is 1/3 wax, 1/3 oils, 1/3 butters. Then you can adjust the hardness or softness from there.

I would try a small recipe and see. Candelilla Wax at 14% might make it too hard.

Thanks! I had learned and have tried the 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 recie but also that with candelilla wax you only use 1/2 of what you would with beeswax so I decided the other 1/2 should be a hard oil/butter.

Do you think the candelilla wax would be better at 10% and the olive oil or a butter with the extra 4%?

Thanks Irena!! I have sweet almond oil I can use more of. I just realized my math was off a bit,Hahaha, but I'll get it right!! Just curious, is grapeseed oil good in lotion bars as a light oil?

The problem I'm seeing with grapeseed oil is that it has a pretty short shelf life. So if you plan to use this lotion bar up within a few months your fine to use it. If not you need to use an oil with a longer shelf life.
