Of course everyone has a right to state their opinion; but this is the method I started out with. Also, with some blenders you have to push the on button and then select pulse or a steady speed, with others you just select mix, stir or blend and hit the off button when finished. With my stick blender I have to be careful to make sure it is far enough under the surface so I won't get splashed in the face or on the arms. I have used the stick blender several times and I have to tell you that I still think that blender soap is much easier and faster. Enough said about that I guess, in the end one must make the choice that seems best and safest for them.
