Teach Soap

Hello from Chattanooga area! I love sodium lactate in my soaps, but like Linda said, I've used salt also when I was out of SL. I dissolve mine in warm water first because I had trouble getting it to dissolve in my lye solution (probably added it too late), and then used that water as part of my water amount for the lye solution. If you aren't gelling your soaps that would definitely help as well.

Hi from outside a small town in Nevada. We get deer, coyotes, and mustangs wondering through our yard. My frenchies are excellent "supervisors" but thankfully prefer to watchover my soapmaking from a distance. They tend to be underfoot whenever I'm on the computer though!

The mustang foals are adorable! The coyotes make me worry about our cat and dogs but the bobcat sniffing around our house was worse. Fortunately, we don't see them much. We did have to start keeping our outdoor trash can in the garage when a bear started visiting it! It gets too cold at our altitude so we don't get many snakes of any kind. We love it here.

Linda, I love your pictures! The mustangs are beautiful. I have a cousin that lives in Idaho and he's always posting pics of critters that wander into his yard.
We have deer that live in the field/woods across the street and they cut through our property to the woods behind us. We've also had a lot of coyotes this year for some reason...lots more than we usually have.

Thanks! It is a great place to live but we definitely get winter. So far this year, it's been mostly mild. We're off to my parent's for Thanksgiving. Hope everyone has a wonderful time!
