I have seen this in the forums before. I just don't know how to word it in the search.

When my Lavender Soap cures, It gets a White film on it. Not all over. Just On the top. And here and there.

What would this be? And What is the cause?

It's called ash and it's harmless. You can remove it or use the soap as is. One of my soaps with a white textured top actually looks better when it gets some ash on it!

Sometimes it's the fragrance, sometimes it's the water, sometimes we have no a clue why it shows up! :lol:

It has to do with the speed at which the water leaves the soap. But many, many, things affect this! Lavender is known to cause ash too by the way, even an good alcohol spray every couple of ours doesn't seem to keep the ash off! You can remove it with alcohol and a buffing with new pantyhose though!
