We've been putting in calendula petals with a nice patchouli fragrance oil and it comes out great. Until yesterday.

We added bergamot fragrance to the mix (patchouli/bergamot) and the calendula petals turned black and the soap became a pasty/creamy yellow. In other words, gross!

Any ideas? Thanks as usual.

Was the fragrance soap safe? Hoiw old is the calendula?
