Sonya my daughter's hair is the same....she is Cherokee (me) and Puerto Rican (father). She got his hair. I use hot (warm) oil treatments...

2 ozs sweet almond oil
1 oz apricot kernel oil
1 oz olive oil infused with calendula
.5 oz aloe vera juice
10 drops lavender EO

Warm the oils to 95 degrees and rub generously into scalp and hair combing through hair Place hair in plastic shower cap or cover with plastic wrap and leave for 15 -20 mins. Cleanse with a gentle shampoo.
