What is the standard usage for clays per pound of oils? I have some Kaolin Clay that I am dying to try

Start with 1 teaspoon per lb. of oils and take it from there.

I use clays in all my recipes and I use 1 tsp per pound of oils. In my shaving soaps I use about 1.5 per pound split between Kaolin white and bentonite.

Okay this is awesome! I just found my kaolin clay (I moved recently) and was thinking I'd like to try to make some shaving soap for Christmas gifts but was wondering if Kaolin was good for it and how much. Cetawin - do I really need Bentonite? Can I just use Kaolin? I also have some Rose and Dead Sea clays as well.

I've used kaolin in my men's shaving soap and rose clay in mine.
