So here's my latest musings: anyone here use spent hops as an additive?

And here's how it came about: last night's batch of kolsch blew its airlock a little bit ago and was fermenting happily out the carboy. While replacing the gizmodo and wiping down the sludge I couldn't help but notice the fine texture of the green goo. Then I got to thinking of all the dead yeast I'll have in about a week when I transfer the wort to the secondary and now I'm wondering about that also. Anyone who's made a brewski soap ever used spent hops and/or the yeasty leavings?

Not me, but I've used hop oil for soap.

Would that be a fragrance/essential oil or oil-oil as part of your oils for saponificating ?

Was beer your liquid of choice for that soap?

Fragrance/essential oil part. I used beer for the liquid.
