Good morning.

just reading today. I can not make soap till the afternoon. Because the stick blender in a Stainless steal pot. Which has to set in the sink. Buy my Window, And...is down lower. Because I am a shortie Can make a lot of racket. I know that was long winded!

My husband works nights. So any way I am just doing my reading and caught this lovely link to share.

Yes, you can reuse freezer paper as long as it's not all nasty.

If you can find a thin, flexible plastic or silicone cutting board, you can cut it to size and about an inch taller than your mold and line the pipe with that.

I've also seen someone line their mold with a long narrow plastic bag (like our newspaper come in when delivered).

My husband got the dimensions from the Lowe's mold instructions to make mine. I really would love a round pvc mold, but wondered how do you actually get the soap out? What do you use to push it out?

I would love for my next mold to be a pvc one, as I think the round soaps look lovely!

I use a 3inch diameter PVC pipe cut to 13 inches in length and it holds a 2# batch perfectly. I didn't think I was ever going to get my first batches out of it though!!! It's definitely easier if the soap gels. Once it cooled, I used a can of soup to push on the end. The mold gets seasoned after a few uses and it's easier to get the soap out. Or you can line it with freezer paper.

Would freezing it before trying to push it out possibly help?

It might. If you have mineral oil, coat the inside of the pipe with that first.
