I'm a hot weather kind of girl. I HATE SNOW! The only time I like it is when I am inside my nice, warm house looking out the window at it. LOL. I feel your pain Dave. I eoulf be crying if it looked like that outside my house right now. Here in Illinois we had one brutal summer (I didn't mind it ) but because of that I have a feeling we are going to have one nasty winter and I am so not looking forward to it.

NJ had a nasty summer this year too, barely went under 95 all summer! And that doesn't include the, um, summer version of windchill? LOL I forget the word(s)! Heat index? Was around 105-115 with that.

I'd have died without AC. I couldn't do yard work or walk my dog without getting heat stroke! And the one day I went in my SIL's pool I got pneumonia in both lungs, tonsillitis, and an ear infection. I had a rough summer!

The mountains here are beautiful right now with all the snow on top. I love looking at them while on my way to and from work.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I'm on the west coast and I know it's hard to believe but I do get lots of snow here too! Big Bear is one of just a few places in California with actual seasons. Down the hill everyone is complaining about the 90-100 degree weather but it was 30 degrees up here this morning. Love the beautiful fall leaves not so much the pinecones. A pinecone falling from tall trees can be a lethal weapon to your windshield and they freak me out when they fall on the deck at night. Who knew pine cones could be such a pain in the butt. I have huge buckets of them if anyone has ideas what to do with them beyond burning them in the fireplace.

No snow yet, but soon. We tend to get a good storm followed by a few days of sunny 40 degree weather to enjoy it by. Nice. Couple of years ago though I had a snow berm piled as high as the rim of our basketball net in the driveway. It's a funny thing about snow you either love it or hate it there really isn't much in between where folks are concerned.

Hmmn Etsy you say. I didn't think of that. Thanks Hestey that's a great idea! I could actually make money off those evil things!
Last year I got the fantastic idea to wire them and make garlands for the house. We had them strung up everywhere: on the deck, the rafters around the entire house, the fireplace and everyone else that visited thought they looked soooo great. Whenever I looked at them all I could see was holey gloves and bleeding fingers and hours of cursing the stinkin pinecones!

Every time i see in fancy stores those turkeys or owls or trees made by stripping them and gluing the pieces to styrofoam I think "man I could make a killing selling those" but if you've ever tried actually wrestling with them you'd know it gets old (and painful) real fast. My home backs to forest and my house is surrounded. I will gladly trade soap lessons for all the pinecones you can haul. Bring a big truck!

Dave, we actually need some real snow this year. Last winter was so mild we were short on water this year. Most of our water comes from snowmelt so no snow equals bad wildfire conditions. Still, I don't like shoveling snow either. Playing in it is much more fun!
