My neighbor just stopped by and brought me a fresh pomegranate from her father's tree. Apparently he has LOTS of these and wanted to know if I could use them in soap. He (the father) told her (my neighbor) that he had bought a pomegranate soap one time and it was one of the best he has used. So he thinks that putting pomegranate in soap makes it lather better :?
Anyway, he wants to give me all these pomegranates if I want them, and meanwhile wants me to experiment with the one he sent over.
So......how do I use a fresh pomegranate to make soap??? I have only purchased real pomegranates like once or twice, ever! Help :!:

ohhh, that might be kind of fun to do! I would get the "seeds" out juice them, then freeze the juice. Then I'd rinse the hulls really good and dry them. Once they are dried you could add them to the soap....I'm not sure how it would turn out...but it might be worth a try. You'd most likely have to have more then one pom too, unless it was really big. Color wise, it could turn out really pretty, or really ugly.

I'm sure someone else on here will be able to give much better advice, but it sounds really fun! I might just try it. Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

It will turn the soap brown. Since it has natural sugars, it "might" add to the lathering factor.
