Teach Soap

OK, as I've said before, I bake and I bake alot. At the holidays I probably bake about 500-1000 gingerbread boys, most of which are donated to the Teen Drop By Center for At Risk Teens (basically homeless). The gingersnap FO is absolutely devine and truly smells like gingerbread OOB. Used it in MP using a mango/shea butter MP base which I colored a proper gingerbread brown and used the gingerbread boy silicone mold. Smells fabulous. Absolutely fabulous. There were no issues with the MP and the FO, but I haven't tried it with CP because I'm waiting on my lye order. I plan to embed the boys in bars of soap like I saw someone else do . . . forgive me because the person's name has left my brain . . . but check out the flaunt your stuff forum thread for CP and you'll see what I mean!

It's a bit of a mover, so if you do anything fancy, work fast. It's so worth it though, cures beautifully!

Thanks for letting me know that! This way, when I do the CP portion, I'll be very prepared! Haven't quite figured out how I'm going to embed them. What I saw was the boys in round loaves, which I presume was PVC pipe. I don't want to do round, but I may do squares in my box mold, i.e, pour a bit, place them, and pour around them. I have to think about it though.

Hi Jilly, those may have been my gingerbread soaps...I used a Pringles can for the round mold and embedded the gingerbread men in the middle of the soaps.

Gingersnap is awesome, but remember that the f.o. will discolor the CP soap to a dark brown, so you may want to use vanilla stabilizer or a non-discoloring fragrance for the contrasting soap around the gingerbread men. Good luck!

I'm planning on plain, no color, unscented around the boys so that their gingersnap fragrance and color is the center of attention.

We just used a pringles can last night for a smaller round soap, and we used one of those thin flexible cutting boards to line the inside of the can (works very similar to the liner that comes with BB's heavy duty round column mold), and it came out great! Wish I could take credit for that brilliant idea, but it was my honey....
