Teach Soap

I'd like to propose an Inspiration Challenge! There are so many great soap makers here, of all experience levels, that I think it would be really fun to create a theme and see what everyone does with it! But, unlike Project Runway, nobody will be "out" at the end of this one!

So, I humbly propose (imagine I'm Heidi for a second) that April's theme is "Mother Nature."

Since this month includes Earth Day, and Mother's Day is coming up, I think this is appropriate and also broad enough that everyone should be able to find something to be inspired by.

So what we'll do is for the entire month, use the theme to design a new soap, then come back to this thread and post a picture of it! You can post as many designs as you would like. And remember, this is not a contest at all - just a fun way of making us think of things we might not have otherwise!

I look forward to participating and being inspired by you, too!

Here is my first "Mother Nature" dedicated soap.

I'm so excited with my original design.

Beach Glass Art Soap

My little boys and my dh and I spend alot of time walking the local beaches and have collected beach glass for years. So I was inspired by that and created my own full soap beach glass.

The second pic has real beach glass on left..and my soap beach glass on right..almost the same.

Just listed in my store..hoping some fellow beacher love it as much as I do.

So maybe not directly from Mother Nature but beach glass has become from nature in our house.

I tried to put some leaves on the top of CP soap (leaves and branches!) so we'll see how that comes out for our salute to Mother Nature.

Since I posted this topic, my 5 month old daughter has decided to wake me up 3 times every night for a little milk snack. My sleep deprivation is seriously effecting my soap creativity! But I still want to contribute an idea.

My inspiration for Mother Nature is flowers. They're the simplest and most beautiful gift for Moms and never go out of style! Here's one that uses BB's opal mica and Gardenia fragrance.



The flowers are hand cut daisy petal shapes (from an 1/8" layer of soap poured into the mold, unmolded, then cut with an x-acto knife) that are laid into the mold (pressed down to adhere well) and the opal soap is poured on top (don't forget rubbing alcohol on those petals!). It's simple and really pretty!
