Teach Soap

Unless you insist on a vegetable-only bar, I would consider using tallow. It's used for shaving soap, which is about as moisturising as you can get. Maybe about 20%; I haven't used it myself. I'd want to include a high proportion of unsaponifiables, so I'd use a fairly high percentage of unrefined class A shea butter, plus some EV Avocado oil. Plus coconut oil for lather. Some palm as a good base and to give hardness.
So I'd try something like:
tallow 20%
shea butter class A 20%
EV avocado oil 10%
coconut oil prefer 92 deg., 20%
palm oil 15%
EV OO 15%

Cut the soap today. The cinnamon smell is overpowering - can't smell the clove at all - which I can't stand (I only used it in the first place because it is my mom's favorite scent). There were large air pockets on account of the soap being so thick going in the mold. Only reached partial gel. This batch was a total failure. Will try again with an EO that does not accelerate trace and is not irritating to dry skin.

This is perhaps a bit off-topic, but not unrelated to the discussion. What essential oils would you recommend that are not harsh or irritating to dry skin? I'm sticking with essential oils rather than fragrance oils. Spearmint? Sweet orange? I'd love to try Anise with it, but saw where that, too, can be irritating...

I would NOT toss the bad batch. I would cut it up and rebatch it or embed it with something like Red or Green Apple. That way you've cut down on the cinnamon and it would smell great with the apple. Or you could add some grated batch to some new pumpkin batch.

Rebatching is a great idea, and I've yet to try that. Thanks!
