Teach Soap

I was hopping around YouTube (an act I now regret) and I came across a complete Loon making soap. Bare hands picking things out of fat mixture and using her skirt to clean the stick blender. I will not even go into detail about her Etsy photo taking video except to say that after the cat rubbed his butt all over her couch and she took the viewers around the scene with a magnifying glass...it was determined the cat needed worm medication so she left whatever it was on the couch and began handling the soaps bare handed for photos WITHOUT washing her hands first. Nancy Today was the name and she really needs adult supervision.

Holy Cow. I am stunned.

There was a huge long thread about Nancy Today on off topic chatter a long while back, and yeah, she's totally nuts.

That woman is a menace. I am fanatically about washing my hands. I worked in the hospitals for 20 yrs, I definately did not want to bring anything home with me. When I am making soap, I wash before during and after and make sure not to touch anything non-soap related while I am doing it. dogs get locked outside, house swept and kitchen wiped down one more time before I even get started. That woman is just horrible to watch.

It usually takes a lot to stun me or even shock me but to make these videos and put them out there for the world to see??? Good grief her children should hire her a nanny because she is really out there. All I could think about was "I would not want to use anything she made". I know lye is strong and can eat most things but still it just makes your skin crawl thinking about it.

She is crazy. I couldn't watch but a few minutes. I rolled my eyes and moved on to the sources I knew I could trust. I just feel bad that there are a lot of people out there who will take her at face value and end up with terrible results, or worst, an injury.

Pretty much, that's all the vets do BUT they are trained vets in a sanitary environment.

I am nautious just reading all of this. How disgusting. I can't imagine how her kids survived her bringing them up. Nasty.

I guess I'm just dumbfounded because it never dawned on me NOT to wash my hands before and after along with everything else getting washed. I even have a specific pair of jeans to wear while making soap just in case I splash. WOW.

I'm so paranoid about contamination that before making a batch of skin cream, I take an aerosol can of Lysol and spray it into the air all around, to bring down any dust that's hanging in the air.

I tried but she has over 11,000 videos, and I wasn't sure which ones to watch to get some laughs.

After reading this thread earlier I got on Facebook to take a look at her videos and OMG! I was in shock. I just sat there watching with my mouth hanging open. In one video she had her grandson running around her (my laundry room is my dedicated soap room which when making soap there are two screwed into the wall gates between my children and I. There is one gate between the laundry room and the kitchen and a second in between the kitchen and the rest of the house. Where I work in my laundry room it is all the way in the back and I don't even allow anyone into my kitchen which is separated from where I am at by a gate.) and then in the same video I watched her measure out her water, zero out her scale and then just dump lye from it's original container into the water while weighing it. It took her 5 minutes to weigh it out into the water and she didn't stir it once while pouring te lye in!
