Teach Soap

Has anyone ever used Aloe Vera Juice in place of water (full or partial replacement) in their soap, and if so, what was the result?

I have. It makes for a nice soap, but it discolors.

If I "juiced" a aloe plant, would this be close enough (for soaping) as the juice you buy? My dad is over run in aloe plants, this would be a great way to use them, save some money and learn a little.

can it be used as is, or does it have to be frozen first like milks. Aloe Vera juice (the one I have) is odorless and tasteless

You don't need to freeze it. Just make sure that it's cold before adding lye.

Man, my mouth is twinging just thinking about that. I used Aloe vera juice to cure myself of nail biting. It's so bitter, if you soak your fingers in it, it will flavor your nails unpalatable. It cured me, that's for sure. I sometimes get soap in my mouth, and I think I would be very reluctant to put an aloe soap anywhere near my mouth as the result.
