Teach Soap

Okay so I have made my first Celine Swirl with Red Currant FO. I think it looks fallish,



Also tryed something I have never done before. I used frozen Ice cubes for my water amt and poured the lye directly on and stirred. I already had the oils melted and cooled. I soaped completely cool. No waiting time on the lye to cool. Now when i checked it after 4 hrs to see if it was gelling it was not warming up at all so I put it in the oven for 50 min on 170 degrees then took out and covered for maybe thirty min and then uncovered it to cool. It completely gelled. I had plenty of time to stir and mix in the colors. It poured perfectly. Not to thick and not to runny.

Great Job Bama!! I use ice all the time for my soaping. My mom has a commercial ice machine, so I go over and fill up a bucket (live next door). I like that I dont have to wait. I get so impatient waiting for everything to get to the right temps, so I soap colder these days, unless of course I am hot processing

Thanks Dawn, I have never hot processed even though I have watched it done. It seemed like to much work for me but maybe if I ever tried it I would change my mind.
Do you find with using the ice you have to put yours in the oven to insure gelling or does it finally heat up and gell on its on?

Linda I used marigold and melon red mixed for the orange color. Both Lab colors from BB. Titanium Dioxide for white and the burgundy color was a Mix of melon red, Fushia, and some Activated charcoal. I just mixed till i got what I wanted.

I may have to try another 3 lb batch and mx up some more colors tonite

Well I didn't make anymore tonite. It's my Bday and i worked today so I am just to tired to think about it. I like to be rested when I make soap or otherwise I usually am not happy with the results,

Beautiful soap Bama. Happy Birthday too!!! I do alot of midnite soaping somehow I don't have distractions then.

I made this soap for wedding gift to my great niece, Christina, who is getting married this Saturday. This is the first posting of it. I couldn't post to FB because she might have seen it. I hope it looks "Bridal" enough! Bramble Berry's Gardenia. It did accelerate.

Thankyou I think it will work. Course would have been nicer if I had had the forethought to mark the bars so each could have a separate rose. Too late now. Wedding is this week. My Mom loved Gardenias for bouquets so that's what I used for fragrance.

Lilahblossom they are really beatufiul and elegant I think Christina is going to be very happy. Did you make the Roses out of MP.?
