Holy Guacamole! Thanks ladies. Since the soaps I've made so far are gifts for Christmas to the at risk Homeless Teens center, do I need to do the labels over or can I leave it?

Thank you. I will repackage and relabel to be on the safe side.

OK, so for the MP soaps I've already packaged and labeled as described above, what about the following as an additional label on the back:

Name of Fragrance
Saradippity Soaps
Soap base (Water, Glycerin, Sodium Sterate, Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol, Sodium Lurate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chlorine, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate), Mango and Shea Butters, Fragrance, and Colorants (blue, red, yellow). 3.4 oz.

It'll be so much easier once I start CP soaps! But in all sincerity, what are your opinions of this label for my MP soaps? Thanks again!

For the colorants, you should list what actual colorants they are. Like if it's FD&C Blue No. 1, put that.

Some people are allergic to certain colorants. My sister's stepdaughter is allergic to FD & C Blue No. 1, but not FD & C Blue No. 2.

I dunno ya'll...but I had to throw this one out there:

"Special Operations Opulence" - After a long day of killing the bad guys, a soldier deserves a bit of self-indulgence. Excellent for removing blood and guts!

Would the part in bold be okay? It's what my friends husband had to say about my green and brown soap...you think the FDA would veto that description?

Just trying to throw a funny out there...I cracked up when I saw that from him

I'll have to check with New Directions Aromatics because the bottles simply say Blue Lab Color, Red Melon Lab Color, Canary Lab Color and Fuschia Lab Color. I did put a weight on them. Thankyou for the input. When I start CP it'll be much easier because there will be less ingredients.

Years ago my Sister gave me some homemade soap from someone she knew. The ingredients simply stated: Saponified oils of coconut, olive, palm, grape seed, essential oils of lemon and peppermint, lemon balm leaf.
I aim to do better.

so I have a question that fits in well here. If you list "saponified oils of..." can you then NOT list Sodium Hydroxide in the ingredient list? I have it listed now, preferring to use what I put into the mix. But just want to know for the future, as I think that big techincal word throws some people off.

BrambleBerry sells Lab Colors and they list the INCI that you need for the label. http://www.brambleberry.com/LabColors-C171.aspx

Irena thank you for making it so easy for me with that link . . . I appreciate the help. Carrie -- the label was handwritten and very difficult to read. In fact, I couldn't read 3 of the ingredients at all. I want people to be able to read the label clearly.

Can we list NaOH instead of Sodium Hydroxide (much shorter) or would we then have to somehow change everything else too? Also, with the color -- since all the colors seem to have water, phenoxethanol, and caprylyl glycol can we list those just once and then say Yellow 5, Green 5, Ext. Violet 2, Red 33 and/or Red 40?

Or can we simply put Yellow 5, Green 5, Ext. Violet 2, Red 33 and/or Red 40? I'd appreciate your thoughts on this question. Isn't it amazing how one question leads to another? Thank you for your patience and knowledge! :)
