When the usage rate says .5-1% are you safe to assume that .5% is enough or are there certain factors in your recipe that would make you go up to the full 1%?

There are some ingredients that you'd want to use more in, like herbs or oatmeal for instance.

I made the lotion from the soap queen blog and she used phenonip and the % used in the recipe came to .8% just wondering if there was a certain reason they came up with that %

I tend to use a higher % in things I'll put my fingers in (like creams). For regular lotions in a pump bottle I use .5%.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

If there is any milk in it, any oats or any herbs, I would go the maximum allowed % recommended by the manufacturer.
