Teach Soap

Especially for small scale soapers, what do you use to cure your soap? A picture or link would be helpful. Right now I have tons of bars of soap on every flat surface in my living room. It's getting out of hand. It's too humid in my basement (I'm in Georgia) to store them there. I could use the garage but it isn't climate controlled. I think I need a tall vertical rack.

I use an inexpensive set of plastic shelves from the I got from Walmart. I cover the shelf with brown kraft paper and I write the soap name and batch date right on the paper.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I have a set of metal shelves that I am repurposing for curing racks. All I have to do is put some plywood on the shelves. I got mine at Walmart and they should have different sizes. Mine are the bigger ones but I now have a whole room for my soaping.

I don't have this yet, but in my new home I intend to: Ikea's GORM 3-tier shelving system. Lower shelves in each tier for oils and other large, heavy things; middle shelves for lye, fragrances, and colorants; upper shelves for soaps. I'll probably line the shelves with freezer paper, wax paper, or butcher paper so that the active lye in the soaps doesn't degrade the wood. I suspect I'll also need a few extra shelves (which Ikea also sells) since I'll have a lot of small things rather than just three or four needed shelves per tier for bigger things like books and stuff.
