Can someone please shed some light on how much clay to use in a soap batch...its something I have pondered trying! Does is really have any effect on the skin in a wash off product?

I have looked at white clay, dead sea clay and red clay!

Clays will also do a wonderful job naturally coloring your soap. I think many of the wonderful qualities of the clays survive the CP process overall. Maybe someone who knows facts on this will post. :)

I would start with 1/2 tsp. per pound of oils and take it form there. Some clays, like the red, can stain a tub or a washcloth in larger amounts.
