I use lard for my laundry bars. 0% SF. I HP it and let it firm up a week then grate it up. I use borax, washing soda and a bit of baking soda. I have a top loader so I use 2 TBS per load (my loads are supersize). I make my own fabric softener so I throw that in the Downey ball and my clothes are nice and clean and soft. I do add FO to my powder mixture but it does not make my clothes smell. It's only for my pleasure.
