So I have that one creepy cool marbled batch of CP soap right? I kinda think it may have been the milk that left it creepy neat looking...however...for kicks...what do ya'll think about giving rebatch a go?

I like playing with the old crockpot...I don't mind potentially "loosing" this batch if I blow it...because I realize I could.

But tell me this...IF and only IF (since I don't think it is the DOS) But IF it is DOS...will it just come back in the soap once I melt it down and remold it and cut it? Or...IF it is NOT the DOS will it go away?

So, since it is still a huge question mark, what does that plan sound like to other people? Good? Bad? Indifferent? Lemme know what you think...I may give it a go for the heck of it tomorrow if so...

All I know of DOS is that it's dreaded!! (oh yeah, and it's orange and looks like spots, har har har)

From what I've read (I think from Soapbuddy) is that it can actually spread to your other soaps and such, and is from your oils being rancid. So I'm pretty sure it would still be there after a rebatch as it's the same oils involved.

Well...see...I figure that is my "if" - I dunno if it is the dread spots...I don't think so...but since it would still be there if it were the DOS....then this would be a way of figuring it out for sure right?

Otherwise, if it ain't DOS and it's just some issue from the milk (high in copper that day, high in iron, maybe some doe had been gorging on minerals before I milk - who knows, no one is ill or has been)...then maybe it will go away...kinda like an experiment...because I am ITCHING to experiment some more after using a for real deal FO the other day (that was a BLAST!)....still waiting to cut that...tomorrow maybe...or the next day....

So...see what I'm getting at? It would be like a process of elimination I just don't know if this train of though applies: DOS = still there after rebatch process....NOT DOS = gone after rebatch process....I am only guessing that would be the case....see what I mean?

This lovely crazy soap is sitting in my closet in my room on a rack...all alone...away from the other tender young soaps LOL :) I moved it away when I realized it was just not right but not actually wrong either - just different (Like me I guess :P ). I am wondering if it has more to do with the milk and the copper boost the girls all got not to long back...but can't quite tell....

You see what I am thinking? Have I lost my mind yet? (wait...don't answer that one!)

IF it is DOS, cooking it won't make it go away.

I suspect it's from your milk. DOS generally doesn't appear that quickly. Rebatching would help you answer that question. If the spots don't rematerialize, it probably wasn't DOS.

If it's not, then yes, it may go away.
