Teach Soap

I know we need to let CP soap breathe. Searching online, I've come across breathable shrink wrap. Would this work for packaging CP soaps? Apparently is allows scent to come through, as well as a bit of air.

It will work, but as your soap continues to cure and shrink overtime the wrap will become loose.

Can you reshrink the shrink wrap after it's shrunk?

If you have a cutter that sizes your bars reliably, I'd buy boxes for packaging. BB carries two kinds, or there are places that will make them in bulk to your own measurement specifications if you prefer a thicker or longer bar than the ones that will fit in BB's boxes. Some of the places will not just make a box, but also print your design/logo/label on them.

Thanks, Ipstenit & Irena, for your suggestions. I have thought about boxes, but am hesitant due to the cost and how it covers the colors/designs. But it may be my best option in the end. Still trying to figure out what works best for me . Hearing what others do helps me to think through my own situation more thoroughly!

Glad to help! Keep in mind that if you make larger orders, most places will give you a better price on the boxes. some places will actually make single-box orders.

I'd suggest ordering one each of the box styles you like, and record the exact details of the other. This way you'll get a good idea of which types of boxes work best for individual soaps, loaves, slabs, and multiple-bar or multiple-batch orders. Then pick the one(s) you like and order 100 or 1000 of those -- or whatever bulk amount will be the best balance, for you, in terms of overall price, individual box price, your volume of sales, and the storage space you have in which to put them all.

I principally prefer to avoid shrink wrap for CP. It's too synthetic from my point of view and doesn't suit the CP soap. I prefer craft paper and other material which have a more natural look. It takes more time to pack the soap but I prefer the look.
