made some hard bar soap. 36% co, 28% cb, 30%po, and 2% castor o. rebatched it after 5 days and started using it after 5 more days. i think its drying out my skin. is this from too high % of co or that it still needs more time to cure?

At 10 days, soap will be drying. Give it 2-3 weeks, then try it again. How much did you superfat? Did you use a lye calculator?

What's the other 4%? & what soapbuddy said, CP & HP soap feels much better after it's cured.
Why did you rebatch it?

sorry i didnt respond sooner. computer froze up on me and i went on to another project. my castor oil was close to 6% not 2%, sorry. i rebatched it cause the first time making it i forgot to add FO so poured it back into bowl and added FO. i ended up with pockets of FO. soapbuddy said i should probably rebatch it. i was hoping the drying problem was just curing time. i always use the little leftover piece after rebatching and it had never dried out my hands before. but then this is the first time using less unsaturated oils and i heard CO can be really drying when too much is used. i superfatted at 5% never less.

It probably needs to cure for more time. AND with that mix of oils and butters, I'd go for an 8-10% SF.
