How long can I store my bars in a carboard box? I am moving and will be packing them up for the move and not sure when I will get them out while unpacking!

For a looong time. You'll be fine unless they are stored in a hot and humid environment.

Thanks soapbuddy, I assume thats only the case after a 4-6 wk cure right? Think they have all cured at least 4

I'm moving too, and here's what I'm doing about my soaps. I stopped soaping in mid-August, so my newest soaps are the ones that will be 8 weeks cured by moving day. However, I'm going to be packing them before moving day, so...

1. I'll be wrapping each bar in waxed paper.

2. Putting the waxed paper wrapped soaps into cardboard boxes.

3. Labeling the box with SOAP and sealing it with hot pink wrapping tape, visible from all sides, so that I know that's one of the boxes I need to unwrap within the first week after the move, the second I've put up my shelving in the new garage, so that they can continue to cure for at least another 2-4 months (they're mostly olive oil soaps).

4. Finally, I will not leave boxes packed and waiting for ages. This will be my 32nd address since graduating high school in 1989 (yes, that is a mere 23 years for 32 addresses), which means that by now I have this down to a science. I pack boxes labeled with the name of the room in which the items belong, which means that if I unpack one room's boxes each day, everything will be unpacked within a single week. (No matter how many bathrooms there are, those all get unpacked FIRST THING. Mama needs her bath towels.) The soaps will probably be the last thing unpacked, but they still won't have to wait all that long.

That's a lot of moving!
I like your ideas. I did something similar when we moved and it made it so much easier for the friends helping to unload the truck - they knew exactly where to put the boxes.
