Teach Soap

Tell me more I can't lie, I love stuff that smells good almost as much as I like making soap - think about it, we live on a farm...there is an awful lot of stinky smelly things that are NOT pleasant in my day LOL. I have not yet ordered a ton of fun scents, just things that should be easy for a beginner to use in CP soaps. But I did get one little small bottle of course with my "bramblebox" and I want to play with it...eventually

Tell me: If it (read "IT" as a more advanced FO, not one in particular) is hard to work with in CP soaps will it also be a challenge in lotions?

Is it easier to use in HP soaps perhaps sometimes maybe?

What about whipped soap - like the famous Nizzy website? Is it easier to use these challenging scents in THOSE instead?

I'm just curious, wondering, taking my mind off of things some this morning...so do let me know what ya'll think Even more experienced soapers have their challenges right? So how do you overcome these tricky scents?

Difficult FO's are easier done via HP, since you are adding it after the cook. The FO should be fine in lotions. Nizzy's whipped soap is done cold, so you should be fine there too.

So really they are only difficult in terms of CP? But so much so in other things? Hmmmmm...good to know

I hadn't really thought of doing anything to very hard ever in terms of soap making - I was content to stick with the easy stuff and just have fun with it...BUT DANG! HOT DAWG! When I smelled that tiny little bottle (or what it had in it) I got all kinds of "good smell envy"! I can see how fragrances can be addictive as the soap it self....it's much like needing goats of different colors....VERY addictive I think

I research the heck out of any FO's I am planning to use. I buy from Nature's Garden - their website allows for reviews. Alternatively, there are sites like the Soap Scent Review Board. Some FO's are popular and have lots of feedback, others not so much. I try and stick to FO's that have had lots of "field testing". If an FO is particularly tough to work with, chances are another soaper has discovered this and posted a review somewhere, if you are lucky.

Its not a perfect method, but so far my results have been similar to others. DIVE IN! I think its the best part of soaping!

I've used my troublesome fragrances in HP and my Whipped soap with less issues.
