Thanks, Apo! I'm having fun making holiday soaps, too. Made a Gingersnap recently, and a Peppermint swirl today! :D

Thank you for the compliments on my Hot Cocoa soap, SudsyFun, soapcakes, Asil, and Dawn! Soapcakes, I have been videotaping my soapmaking efforts, so I do plan to have more videos to go along with my blog posts!

Duzhesoap, your swirl looks great in the mold. Can't wait to see it cut! :)

Love those swirls Lora, looks like some kind of rich strawberry and cream desert!

Well, here's what I made with what I could salvage from this disaster viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9141 I used an in the pot swirl using chrome green and a much more diluted annatto than in my last batch that was a deep orange.

The fragrance is Indian Sandalwood FO with Geranium Rose EO. My boyfriend finds the scent offensive. He says "It's trying to be masculine and feminine at the same time, but not as a unisex scent. It's more like it has both parts, like a hermaphrodite." I tend to agree. I was going for the smell of sandalwood incense mingling with geranium rose; a strong childhood memory I have of my grandmother. The sandalwood was much too floral for my liking, probably just as well I dropped the bottle on the floor. Last night I had nightmares about dropping all my fragrance bottles one after the other while trying to make soap in the house who's scent inspired this fragrance combo.

Well, with this one done it's time to make some holiday bars! I have the day off work *cracks knuckles*

Nice job Lora! Since you used TD, next time you make it, don't gel and you won't get the crackle that TD makes when the soap gels.

thanks soapbuddy, didn't think it is td's issue.
On the other hand, i am impressed it turned out like this, like it's been poured while still at a light trace.

Looks even better cut! By geranium EO do you mean Geranium Rose or is there an EO that resembles the spicy smell of crushed garden variety geranium, because I would love to soap with that. I quite like the crackle look whether or not it's what you were going for.

So, working on holiday batches today. I am VERY proud of how this batch came out. Another in the pot swirl only this time I poured along the divide between the green and the black, and alternated which direction down the mold I was pouring. The scent is Fir Needle EO and Clove EO.

My orange spice HP is in the freezer though the color of that was a disaster, see here. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9160&p=88366#p88366

EDIT Uploading pictures of the HP soap. It looks like Alabaster to me. The fragrance is 10X Orange, Cinnamon, Clove, and Litsea cubea. Colored with Tangarine Wow, though you need to read the above post to see why it's not orange.
