My question of the day...

I am looking over the invoice from Bramble Berry, And realized that I have both Essential oils and Fragrance oils.

I did not realize I was ordering both kinds at the time. My mistake.

When Doing Cp Soaps Does it matter which kind I use? Because I thought I was to use only Essential oils. :?:

You can use both - you can even make blends of EOs and FOs. Some EOs (like the citrus ones) don't stick very well in CP unless you use another scent to anchor them (like patchouli), but citrus FOs seem to hold better-maybe because they're synthetic. Also, FOs are usually not as expensive as EOs. You can get some really nice FOs that smell like EOs (Lavender, Patchouli, Peppermint, Rosemary, to name some)

You can use both, but not all of them are used at the same rate. Don't forget to weigh them according to the batch size you make, so you don't use too much.

And be careful when ordering from different companies because not all fragrance oils are skin safe, you should always read the manufacturer's description to be safe :)

These were from Bramble Berry's So I feel pretty safe using them. :D

I read that using 1 tsp ( tbs?) of corn starch with Citrus scents will also help anchor them. Have any of you tried this?

I ended up using the Patchouli. Smelled quite nice.

And I used my new blender. Waring WSB40 Quik Stik 2 Speed 350 Watt Medium Duty Immersion Blender. It was soo nice. No worrys about IT falling apart into my soap

My Double batch (first time) of 100% coconut soap came out so pretty. I can not wait to un-mold it. To see if it looks as pretty out of the molds.

Hoping to move onto Castille Soap next. I am so hooked :D
