You can also use a heavy duty plastic pitcher to mix your lye if you don't want to invest in a pot right now.

I use a Rubbermaid pitcher that my hubbie cut the top off of. It works great! I took a black sharpie and wrote " Danger! Lye! " all over it so that no one would use it for any other purpose!!

thank you for all the lovely messages.

My friend is going to dig out one of her old stainless steel pots for me to use

for the time being I'm using my coconut oil for massage bars. I will do lots more research on cold process soap and hopefully next time i attempt cold process it will turn out a bit better
