Teach Soap

I'm wondering how everybody stores their soap molds? Right now I am storing them in boxes, but my boxes are overflowing and it's getting harder to find them quickly and keep them organized. I've thought about hanging them on the wall, but only some of the molds are made for hanging. I would really appreciate your storage suggestions and ideas!

I keep my cavity molds on a closet shelf, and loaf molds stacked on a corner of my shelf in the kitchen. I saw someone post a picture of their storage closet with all their molds hanging on the types of clothes hangers I use for skirts, with clips. Thought that was funny.

I am still unpacking my house from moving so they are still in huge plastic bins. I PRAY that one day I will be finished unpacking and can make my soap closet with shelves for my molds, tools, and ingredients.

Laura - that's so funny that you mentioned those clip hangers, because my mom just sent me a picture yesterday of someone using one to hold their recipe book open...it was hung from a knob on their kitchen cupboard...too funny!

Asil02 - good luck with the unpacking! It's such a daunting task to figure out how it's best to organize it all!

That's a great idea too, Irena, thanks. A baker's rack would be handy because I could probably store other things on it as well.

I only have two wooden ones and a very small number of small plastic ones. The plastic ones all fit in a half-gallon orange juice carton, and the wooden ones sit on a book shelf along with my kitchen towels. Once Ipstenu and I move to California next month, I intend to buy some of the GORM three-tier shelving units from Ikea to put in the garage for soaping purposes.

Thanks Ipstenit, those Ikea shelves would be worth considering too....good luck with your move!

I got one of those hard plastic utility shelves from Lowes and put it against the wall in our den - it's storage for all my of soaping supplies and I have different molds and equipment inside of cardboard boxes on the shelves. Well, that's where it starts - most end up all over the counter and not put back for a while
