Teach Soap

I have the Cuisinart stick blender (like BB sells), but need to buy a new one, as the plastic where the metal meets the body of the blender is cracked. It still works, but is not the safest tool to be using. (I think the crack came from me tapping the stick on the side of my pot one too many times, trying to get the last bit of soap off of it).
Anyhoo.....do I do with the same kind, or is there a different kind I should be looking for?? Trying to think more long-term here.

I would go to Amazon and see if you can find a stainless steel one instead of plastic. They are not cheap however they will last you a long time.

hello...Mine just blew up tonight in the middle of a batch! I almost sat on the floor and cried. But with permission from my sweet husband. This is what I just ordered from amazon.com

Its not the most expensive. But it sure beats the Walmart one that just fell to pieces in my soap

I have a white westinghouse $10 plastic SB that I got at Walmart 12 years ago! Its been dropped and banged around and it used to be used for food, so I know it holds up well to temperature! I made a 'few' pots of squash soup with it!

They just don't make things like they used to.

Mine was brand new. Only used about 6 times. And it fell apart all through my soap last night. Yuk! I had to fish plastic parts out of my soap. I had just put in my Lavender EO. Then I had to mix by hand. It was a mess. On the lighter side. It all came out OK this morning. So all is well.

I do wish I had gone with a longer stick when buying my new Blender. But Maybe Santa well be good to me.

I bought an Oster at WalMart for $19.99. It's worked great but now the shaft is kinda loose and I'm getting more bubbles.

I have seen some great prices ($40 down from $80 or so) on heavier stick blenders at the various "salvage stores": Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Tuesday Morning. I am lucky to have three such stores in one mall close to me so I make a habit of checking in regularly. If you have any of these places near you...its good to visit once in while. You might get lucky.

2 1\2 years ago I found one at the thrift store for 3 dollars. It will not die! I have a new one in the basement for backup just in case.

Go to eBay and look for one with a SS shaft. I find the quality is better with the used ones.

Well, my search is over. Hubby surprised me with a new one . He said he knew I didn't have time to search around, so he just bought it instead. Sweet, sweet man
