I picked one up on Monday, my other one (also from harbor freight-different brand) stopped working on low. I always use it on low for shrink wrapping soaps and stuff. Also, they have a coupon for the laser thermometers 29.00 or so. DH picked mine up a couple of years ago for 25.00.

That was actually my concern. I was afraid that it didn't get as hot, so that I would have to hold it closer to the item or hold it in one spot longer, which might cause more of a problem with the shrinkwrap. I've only use it (not an actual heat gun) so have nothing to compare it to.[/quote]

You still want to keep it moving to avoid the holes but they work just fine.
