Teach Soap

Hello I am very new to soap making only in the research stage, reading books; joining forums but haven't made my first batch yet. I am finding the information a bit overwhelming at the moment.

My interest is to make goats milk soap from my new little herd of goats.

A couple of questions
I downloaded a soap qualities spreadsheet and most of the terms make sense, could someone explain the signifigance of Iodine and INS?

Is there a list of abbreviations anywhere I could use as a reference for this forum?

There significance on the other hand mean very little to me. When making soap, I never look at the INS.

I don't follow those qualities in a recipe. I go by the soap actually feels.
