I made my poll soap today! It is colourful, fruity, and a bit sweet all in one! I made an apple blend that I'm actually going to keep secret... sorry guys! It smells like someone just cut up a bushel of apples in my house! My FIL asked me to make some lotion with the same scent because he loves it so much. Thinking it will be one of my "for sale" scents when I get the shop up and running!

Now back to the topic: green oxide. One of the little mini cups of colourants I got from the TKB clearance shop was labelled "green oxide" but it was a more earthy green than my normal green oxide. I decided to give it a try as TKB has lots more oxide colours than anywhere else I have seen. It started out a PERFECT earthy green tone but has now faded to a pale pea soup green and looks as though it is headed for colourless! Even as a white portion of the soap it will look good, but man that green was SO perfect!!

I think I may have to play with some blues and yellows to make a CP stable version of this green, it was so perfect for a fall soap!

It looks like the batch is all gelled, so there should be cut pictures tomorrow!

Sounds like your new fragrance mix is a winner!!
I use green oxide and haven't ever had a problem with it fading (perhaps being TOO green, maybe, but not fading). Do you have a green oxide from another company to try? I could send you a small portion of mine if you want to give it a shot.
As a side note, I read your title and the first thing that came to mind was the line from Nemo where the one aquarium fish shakes his fist at the filter/cleaner and exclaims, "Curse you, Aqua Scum!!!". I so love that movie :).

Woot! I have some of their green oxide and it is like a kelly green in my soaps with no fading. So that must have been mislabeled or not fully labeled, whatever.

Guessing it was mislabeled, oh well. The little colourant cuppies they sent are all for personal use/soapy gifts for soapy friends. They assured me that they are all safe to use in soap. Might just have a few colour mishaps!

Carrie: I LOVE that movie! It comes out in 3D for a limited time sometime this months! My husband is so taking me! If he wants to or not!

Sounds like it was mislabeled. I have green oxide and have used it for years. I have never had anything like what you describe happen.

I can't wait to unmold and cut this one, to see what has become of my nice green!

I ordered a few greens from the conservatorie tonight, as all I had were pale or blue-greens. I could have mixed my own easy peasy, but... yeah. I can't resist a new mica!

Could it have been mica instead? Some green micas do fade in soap.

It had no mica like sparkle. Honestly I have no idea what it really was. Body safe colourant that started out green, that's all my info. :?

I am thinking alone the line of Irena... my green oxides are very reliable. I must say that was not very good labeling, how would you know what to put on the label you make?

I don't, that's why it is only for us and fellow soapers. All I know about it is that it is body safe. These little cuppies were used for mixing makeup colours and soap colours. A lot of them are now available on the site but most of what I have are unlabeled, or apparently mislabeled. I have about 100-150 of these. :o
