Hi Everyone

My cold process kit from BB arrived!

I want to make cold process ..... but when it hardens after 48 hours can I grate it and re-batch it, then add my essential oils and herbs and in this way shorten the curing time?

I'd just do it hot process then. That way you don't have to grate it up and everything.

That won't shorten the curing time. You still need at least 4 weeks. Why not add the scent and herbs right up front?

Does the re-batching soap from BB, have to be cured too?

I saw in the comments of a Soap Queen Video on re-batching this method of re-batching soap. Now I can't find it.

The grated re-batch soap is put in an oven proof bowl; liquid is added; covered with saran wrap; left to sit for a period of time (overnight?); then baked in the oven for 90 minutes.

This person had wonderful success with this method.

Does anyone have the details to this method or has tried it?

Depending how fresh the soap is, you need very little water. I would start with 1 TBS. of water per lb. of soap. Put the soap and water into an oven proof container. Cover and let sit overnight for the water to absorb. Then put in the oven. I normally use 170 degrees (US) and let it cook for a couple of hours, til it's the consistency of mashed potatoes or apple sauce. Then glop into your mold. The reason even rebatched soaps need to cure is because you want the water to evaporate. Technically, it's safe to use right away, but if you wait, it will last longer in the shower.
