Teach Soap

Okay...finally, finally getting around to trying MP for my daughter's sake . She would like to make soaps for the ladies at our church (as Christmas gifts). I'm pretty confident with CP, but this is new territory for me. Just wanted to check and see if I'm on the right track....
I have a white MP base (BB). I just cut it into chunks, melt it in a double boiler (don't have a microwave). When it is liquid, I remove it from the heat, stir in my color and FO and pour into the molds. Wait for a while (an hour? two?) and unmold them. Right?

Two more questions....
1. Is the amount of FO I should use the same as in CP?
2. I only have powdered colorants right now. How is the best way to incorporate them into MP? Mix first with a bit of glycerin? Any particular type of powders I should NOT use? I have a few micas, some neon powders, and a couple of oxides.

FO at the same % should work the same in MP as CP.
Mix your powder colorant with glycerin. Stir really well. It's best to put into a dropper bottle and go by drops. You can use more, but you can't take out color once it's in MP.
I normally melt my base, then stir by hand the rest of the way so the base doesn't overheat.

I've been wondering...can micas be mixed in glycerin and stored this way in a bottle instead of mixing it with a bit of glycerin each time? If so, what is a good ratio for the mica and glycerin?

Thanks, Linda & soapcakes! I'm almost afraid to try MP, because I'm afraid I will get sucked into it like I did CP! And I can't even keep up with CP the way I want to. I'm thinking.....no, not another addiction! I can't fully deal with the one I already have!! But for my daughter's sake, I will stick my toe in the water and see how it feels .
