Teach Soap

So I have been trying to figure out what exactly I am doing wrong or if it's the brand new shiny stick blender I just got.

I used to mix my lye and oils with a Proctor Sylex stick blender. Everything was mixing fine. For my birthday my hubby gave me a shiny "RED" stick blender from Kitchen Aid. Oh my...do I get air bubbles like there is no tomorrow. I really like my new stick blender. Just don't know how to go about to avoid the bubbles. I have tried burping, letting the lye slowly pour down the spout, making sure that I don't blend so much towards to top....I am almost about to give up. In the mean time my Proctor is sitting on my drawer quietly calling out to me

I've heard from a few folks that the kitchen aid ones really increase air bubbles

I don't have a KitchenAid, but the new Proctor Silex one I purchased does the same thing. I went back to my old Hamilton Beach plastic shaft stick blender until I can find another one that works as well.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I had a cuisinart smart stick blender and I loved but I broke it last week. I started using a really powerful hamilton beach and it produced so many bubbles and nothing I did helped. SO....today I went out and bought another cuisinart smart stick and it came in a really cool teal color!

I get more air bubbles with my kitchen aid too. I find that I am burping that thing more often. I think that it has to do with the design (less room for air to escape when burping) and the speed of it. I still have my old one and use it when I'm doing multi-colors.

I haven't tried this yet, but I found a video on You Tube where a couple of holes were drilled in the top of the "bell" of the stick blender to allow air to escape.



I'd be interested if anyone has tried this to see if it really works.
