Anyone else see the sale they got going on for fos? A dollar for their one once and x amount off larger quantities? I picked a few out that sound amazing! It's for today only!

It is a wonderful sale! If you are making soap or lotions, be sure to check that the FOs you got are skin safe since they have a lot that are just for candles. Also, they don't test their FOs in CP and I've had problems with quite a few I've tried.

I got a few that weren't skin safe for my wax melts, but man I was excited to see my order was already shipped and should be here tomorrow! Talk about quick turnaround!

I buy most of my base oils from them since they are local and I don't have to pay shipping. I love their showroom where I can sniff all the samples. And say "Hi" to Thunder, the store mascot (a Mastiff). He's such a sweetheart! :D

I got my first set of Aztec oils today:

Pink Sugar: I've already used this in the past.. it's a lot sweeter than most on the market (Think KY's version)

Iced Lemon Cookies: I've used this one in the past, also.. Super yummy.. and VERY strong... in wax, you can really smell the Sugar Cookie notes.

Oreo Cookie Type: OOB, it smells better than a lot of the "Cookies & Cream" FO's on the market... It's not overly sweet... I'm told once wax, you can actually smell the cream filling..

Creme Burlee: OOB, stinks like crap... Reminds me of that gooey paste that comes in the metal tubes, and you roll it into a ball and stick it on a straw and blow a bubble. I've used this in a blend, so I know it does very well in wax.

Dark Kiss B&BW Type: OOB, Very Close.. It has that Berry note with the musk, and it's an even balance.. not too much musk, like others on the market.

Vitoria Secret Very Sexy (Both Men/Women version): Dead on.. I'm thinking these would sell well in soaps.. not so much wax... hopefully they preform well.

Pear Berry: OOB, DEAD on.. I used to love this scent in lotion.. I hoarded 30 tubes when it was on sale for $3.50 a bottle, and I was being greedy and didn't end up using it all.. I think I had my hoard for 3 years.. they eventually went bad and I ended up throwing 10 bottles out.. since then, i've been Pear Berry'd out, but WOW. I love this FO. definitely going to use this sample in tarts and see how it does!

light and airy makes me think of wildflowers. Going to use this for my niece.

Amber Romance
another light and airy scent makes me think of roses.

Japanese Cherry Blossom
light and airy not cherry smelling at all.

Apple Jack And Peel
smelled like a mulled apple cider. yuck!!! was hopeing for a ceral scent type as name impiles. I was wrong.

Following suit with what I bought!
Molten chocolate lava cake... Omg it smells identical to the desert! I was drooling.
Apple jack... I like it, but not what I was expecting.
Baked apple pie, smells just like the pie baking, I love it
Plumeria... This surprised me, I hate floral but this is amazing!
Egg nog.. I bought one from ng a while ago and it smelled more spicy. This smells like the actual drink. I'm tempted to give ngs eggnog away and stick with this!
Ylzng ylang... I have nothing to compare this to, it's floral. Pleasant, but I'm not huge on floral.
Jack frost... Candy Cane. Sweeter peppermint, very nice.
Candy Corn... I really enjoy this one. Not as carmelly as the candy but that's good, because I feel it would get nasty smelling if it was too sweet.
Gummy bear... I've ordered this before, smells like a freshly opened bag of the candy. Yum!
So Cal for men... I've never used this cologne, but I love the fragrance. Smells like ozone, bergamot and citrus. Very sexy smell!
Fresh fallen leaves... Ibwas so surprised with this one, fresh and musky. Very earthy. I love it, and am excited to see how much the fragrance change when I soap wih it.
Almond biscotti.. Very much almond. It's a good thing I have people who love almond, because it's very strong!
Warm vanilla sugar.... Bbw type, lots softer than what I was expecting. I still like it, just wish it would be stronger.
Candy Apple Bbw type... Love this, just like you'd buy from Bbw. Got this as a gift from the inlaws years ago and loved this sweet fresh fragrance!

OH Dear!!

My Molten Lava Cake and Solcal Type will be here middle of next week. I can't wait to smell those the most!!

So far, it seems like they do their research with dupes.

Also, a Fellow soaper friend of mines soaped Aztecs Molten Lava and Spiced Apples & Peaches today.. Both did good.. no issues soaping them.

Can't wait to hear if the scent sticks, and see what color they discolor to. (if any discoloration at all).

One annoying thing about Aztec is they don't have vanillin percentages available. The owner did send me a suppliers list showing which scents have Vanillin & Ethyl Vanillin.... I told him that soapers would be more open to soaping his oils if he had this information available.

I've asked them about this, as well. I would love to purchase more from them since they are local, but it's a PIA having to test every FO in CP to figure out how it will behave before using it. I've also asked them to carry castor oil since a lot of CPers use it.

Some that I've used are:
Canteloupe Lily - did well in CP, no discoloration, nice blend of fruit & floral. Smells amazing in lotion.
Cotton Blossom - love this scent but makes soap on a stick in CP no matter what temp you soap at.
Bithday Cake - Did well in CP; scent faded at first and then came back with curing; discolored to dark brown
Gardenia -very strong (.5oz PPO)- smells pretty close to the flower; accelerates so be ready; no discoloration
Patchouli - I didn't care for this one, but it did soap well and no discoloration

The egg nog is amazing in my mp. Just made a test batch of that one and the lava cake to see what it smells like. Omg the lava cake had me drooling. I might actually bake today because I need something chocolate.... NOW! Haha

I was over at Aztec getting some oils yesterday and picked up a couple FOs to try. Soaped RTCP with both this morning:

Cacao Colada: no acceleration, or ricing; is discoloring to a tan, but it smells really nice - very tropical with a strong pineapple overtone.

Honeydew: no acceleration, ricing or discoloration so far. This has a nice melon base, but has some light floral notes, too.

I bought the following from them during their sale, I have to say that I was disappointed with a couple, but hey, they were only a dollar. I haven't used any of them yet so this is just an OOB experience (Hey, that's a pretty good saying! lol):

Oreo Cookie - I hope the cream really does come out because OOb it smells ok, but to my nose it's very light, you can slightly smell the cookie part.
Christmas Cookie - I thought that this one smelled SUPERB, you can really smell the ingredients!
Country Lemonade - This one actually smells like the powder from C**ntry T**e
Coconut Bay - Darnit! I thought that this coconut one would be THE COCONUT!, but I tried it on as a perfume oil mixed w/ a little grapeseed and it faded quickly!
Bazooka Bubble Gum - This actually smelled OOB like the cola from Good*O, does anyone know what that is? :)
Candy Corn - Very disappointed, extremely light, can hardly smell anything!!
Polynesian Vanilla Flower - This OOB smells mainly like baby oil!! I can't smell it too long because it makes my head hurt. I hope that when I use it, (if I use it), it morphs into something else! I might use it for CP, hopefully it will mellow out!
