How can spearmint eo ever be called faint or subtle? Strangely I did a very simple combo of lavender, spearmint and a smidge of vetiver eo's and it's the spearmint that I can't smell after cutting the soap. Does it not play well with vetiver? Should I just try increasing the proportion of spearmint to lavender or drop the vetiver completely? Sad because it smelled fresh and lavender when it was poured but just plain lavender now. The vetiver gave it a sort of fresh from the herb garden type note. Any ideas? Thanks!

Very little because it is so strong - only 0.1 oz (ok 3 g!). I can barely smell it if I'm trying to find it. I put in a whole ounce of lavender so it's pretty strong.

Vetiver is considered a base note. It can overpower a blend. The new spearmint amount should be ok.

It seems to me that spearmint is just a different variation on a minty menthol scent, so most of what get's distilled out is the menthol from the plant rather than what makes spearmint smell different from peppermint or applemint. In the same way that orange EO fades because all the d-limoline evaporates I bet the same is true of mints. Perhaps there should be such a thing as 10X spearmint with the menthol removed?
