Ladies, I can't decide if I need an acrylic stamp for soap with my logo or not. I know a few of you do use those, others don't.
I am at the dead end.

So if you sell your soap and you have spare $20, would you spend it on the soap stamp of your personal logo?

I don't make CP, but I love the look of the bars I've seen that have been stamped. I think it gives them a 'special' look, but I don't know how hard it is to do. It also seems that the brand is going to stay with the bar longer than a wrapper..kwim?

I bought a stamp and I love the look, but it takes some practice to get it right. I messed up a few bars practicing. There is a guy on Ebay that I got it for $19

I like soaps with stamped logos on them. It makes them look unique.

It's on my list of things to get whenever I have a little extra money! I think stamped soap looks nice.

A stamp is on my to do list, once I decide on a company symbol. The one I am using currently is a stock image file from the net, just as a placeholder. Has to be something from nature, my usual inspiration, but uh... nature has a lot of ideas!

As anyone could see from the tomato soap I just posted, I also love stamps! At least the acrylic ones. Anything else and I just could not get it to do what I wanted. I find a stamp lets me dress up the soaps that I make a single color.
Heather, I am with you on the difficulity in choosing a logo! I have spent countless hours doodling trying to come up with what is right. Have not hit upon it yet so until then I like what I am currently using.

There is an Italian soaper with a blog - she has some information on the stamps she makes from wood using a scroll saw. I can try and find the blog. Anyhow, I like this method as you would be working in positive space rather than the multi-step "work in negative space to make a mold which will then make your positive space..." I had to do a casting project for school and I find working in negative space difficult. Using wood and a scroll saw, you simply cut out your shapes and glue them to a wood base.

Anyhow...scroll saws can be had cheap in the US via Craigslist...don't know how available in Ukraine. Here is the link to the soap stamps:

Dog gone it April, I was not the least bit interested until I saw those. I have a scroll saw in the basement I have not used for a few years. Had been wanting to give it away, just never got around to it. Now maybe I know why. I think I may even have some of the thin wood left from when I did woodworking projects.

April, those are gorgeous! Thank you for posting the link. I may have to dig the scroll saw out and do a lot of practicing!

That blogger, Omar Lopez, has got to be one of my favorite soap designers...next to Emily Shieh. Yeah, those are the nicest soap stamps I have ever seen on the web. Omar has spoiled me for any other type of soap stamp.

How do you get any of Omar's stamps? I've been drooling over the images but I can't find a place to purchase. :(

I've been trying to decide whether or not to order a custom soap stamp. I put bands on my soap, and I wouldn't want to NOT do that, which would cover up the stamp. Is it still worth having a soap stamp if I have a band around my soap?

I think it is, but then I am very much in favor of soap stamps.... have about 9-10 now. If I ever would sell my soaps I would look at getting myself a logo but for now I am just having too much fun with stamping designs!
